Two Detentions Following Heathrow Irritant Spray Attack

Placeholder Heathrow Airport scene
This incident resulted in the temporary closure of the CTA tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park.

An additional two individuals have been arrested related to a robbery at Heathrow Airport in which 21 people were injured by what is thought to be pepper spray, as stated by law enforcement.

A man, 24, was arrested in the Lambeth area for suspected robbery and assault and a 23-year-old woman was arrested for suspected conspiracy to commit robbery. Both individuals remain in custody, authorities confirmed.

The arrests come after a probe into an attack at the multi-level parking garage at Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Before the attack, a pair of female travelers had stolen from them their suitcases upon exiting a parking garage elevator.

A three-year-old girl was one of the injured in the event. Five people went to hospital for treatment and have since been released.

Officers arrested a 31-year-old man for suspected robbery and assault near the location. He has since been released pending further inquiries as the investigation proceeds.

Police were called at about 8:10 in the morning GMT following reports of a number of people hurt by a noxious substance believed to be an irritant spray.

The attack - which police said was isolated and not considered terrorism - resulted in train delays and the temporary shutdown of the main airport tunnel and the Terminal 3 parking facility briefly.
